Lead poisoning can occur in numerous ways. The person can inhale lead dust, leading to respiratory problems. If the person places his/her hands on the walls, which have a coating of lead based paint, the minute lead particles can easily cling on to the skin surface. Eating food items without washing the hands properly or placing the hand in and around the mouth region will easily lead to paint ingestion.

Younger children are easily prone to lead poisoning because they are easily susceptible to minute quantities of lead particles. Lead can magnify many times over inside the body leading to numerous medical conditions. Even pregnant women are equally prone to lead poisoning. In fact, in some cases lead poisoning can even lead to abortions or premature babies born with some physical or mental deformities.
